vineyards & Wineries
We invest in and manage all aspects of the wine estates we run, integrating all decisions, from the vineyard to the glass.
Is a leading producer of estate wines, owning over 600 and managing a further 400 hectares of sustainably farmed, high-altitude vineyards in Uclés in Central Castile. Fontana produces contemporary wines of great purity and freshness.
Mesta is a range of organically and sustainably grown single varietal wines. Under the symbol of the Mesta, a powerful association of shepherds in medieval Spain, the range offers honest wines of great purity and varietal typicity, as well as unbeatable quality at its price point.
Quinta de Quercus produces single vineyard and parcel wines from 44 hectares of high-altitude, sustainably grown vineyards in central Castile. The ageworthy wines are contemporary in style, displaying distinct freshness and elegance, as well as excellent concentration, purity and depth.
Vinos de Montaña is our range of mountain wines from high-altitude vineyards in Sierra de Gredos and other historic growing areas in the Sistema Central, the mountain chain that divides the Iberian Peninsula in its Northern and Southern halves. Based mostly on very old Garnacha vines on granite soil, the wines are perfumed, delicate and fresh, displaying the character of their vineyard parcels and villages. The range includes village wines from Cadalso and Cebreros in Sierra de Gredos, a field blend from Sierra de Gata and exceptional bottlings from single vineyards.
Badiola is our winery in the heart of Rioja Alavesa. Founded in 2018 by acquiring an existing winery, Badiola offers village and single vineyard wines that display the freshness, elegance and depth of flavours which we believe distinguish the great wines from Rioja Alavesa. We cultivate over 300 parcels of extraordinary vineyards on the slopes of the Sierra Cantabria, mainly in the villages of Villabuena de Alava, Leza, Samaniego, Laguardia, Navaridas and Baños del Ebro. The average age of the vineyards is around 50 years and many were planted in the 1920s, 30s and 40s.
Apóstata is made from some of the very best vineyard parcels in Castile, following an age-old tradition. The diverse soils and altitudes of these old plots of Tempranillo complement each other perfectly, resulting in a wine superior to the single vineyards. Because these vineyards are in different regions, our wine cannot carry a denomination. Like apostates, who voluntarily chose to abandon a limiting creed, we decided to dispense with political limitations and offer a better wine, beyond borders. Apostata is a joint venture with our friend and partner, Swiss winemaker Matthias Tobler.
